By: Bhadmus Abdulbasit CJID center for journalism and innovation development resumed it 4 days training for campus journalists on Friday, 25th of February 2022  The training  which was still held at the Lagos state university student arcade begans with a recap of the previous day's lesson, trainees contributed and mentioned their takeaways from the previous lessons. More so  Mr Deji Adekunle started the day's session with; data journalism. Ayomide Sotubo The remains of deceased Student activist, Nurudeen Alawonle Popularly known as Omomewa has been buried earlier today at the Atan Cemetery, Lagos.  Omomewa was killed at the school gate few weeks ago, hours after facing a disciplinary panel set up by the school management over pending allegations of his involvement in admission racketeering. The exact nature of his killing is yet to be revealed as results from the  investigations of the police differs from the account given by a staff member of the institution, Mr. Waheed Majekodunmi, who fled the scene of the event after he was also attacked. The PUNCH gathered that Police claimed that he was been stabbed as against Majek's account which claims he was shot.

Telling the world how important journalism is cannot be overemphasised,  and as true as there remain true journalist who are stick to the honest side of the profession let us not forget there still remains those who at every corner have found their ways into the corridors of floating all they can,  due to one reason or the other,  and as such,  all true journalist seems to have a  long way to go in redeeming the almost lost glory of the Nigerian Journalists. However it is even more heartbreaking realising those term as the watchdog of the state,  are those on their early times already painting the flag black and red,  in the waters of irregularities,  through the icy hands of corruption,  greed,  lies, and more terribly indecency in administrating the future of journalism, this are the likes of journalist who beg those trampling on their right,  because journalism to them is only a way of footing their bills and not to correct the ills of the society,  -a society endlessly needing wate...
