LASU Don, Prof Lai Oso Tasks Journalists On Effective Investigative Reporting
By Damilare Adeleye Professor Lai Oso, a lecturer of Lagos State University from Faculty of Communication and Media Studies (FCMS), has charged media practitioners to engage in effective investigative reporting. Prof. Lai Oso made the clarion call while speaking as a keynote speaker at a media conference tagged, “Amplify In-depth Media Conference’’, held at NECA House, Ikeja, Lagos, on Thursday. In the course of unravelling strategic elements of investigative journalism, Prof. Lai Oso stressed that holding public figures to account in public interest is a core of media outlets. Describing investigative journalism as an epitome of journalism, Prof Lai Oso itemised the impacts, power, values and weaknesses of investigative news reports, Nigeria in particular.
