Editorial: Dear LASUites, Welcome Back to School!

Great Lasuites, truly, the past few months have not been easy as we have been made to face an array of academic, and extracurricular activities as well as personal tasks head-on. A lot has happened in the course of this academic journey in just this year alone but the good news is that we are still here.  A few days ago, it would be an understatement to say that your capacity to tackle challenges was not overstretched once again with the release of last semester's results via the dreaded LIDC but still as said earlier, we are still here, and are ready to face a new set of tasks in this new semester.  For some, it is their last, and for some others, it is 2 out of 8 and so on but the most important thing is that we are here, still kicking, beaming with hope, feeling optimistic and positive about that bright future ahead of us. "I didn't pay school fees while going to school" says Femi Falana

  By   ACJ Editorial Team and Samiat Ajayi  Nigerian Lawyer and human rights activist, Femi Falana when in attendance as the keynote speaker at the one-day Colloquium held by The Cable Newspaper Journalism Foundation, CNJF, shared his education journey and made mentioned that he didn't pay any fees while going to school. Femi Falana in his speech while addressing the theme of the day (People-led Demand for Good Governance: Role of Investigative), cited cases where he had to fight for the access to free education by the Nigerian students, sharing that many of the leaders same as himself enjoyed the benefits of free education during their schooling period, and exposing the bizarreness in clamouring for the increment in most of these institutions tuition fees.
