Mixed Reactions as SJC's Verdict On Unconstitutional Impeachment of Hon. Atiku Semiu Gets Rejection
By: Shittu Mujeeba, Leshi Adebayo Following the Student Judiciary Council (SJC)'s verdict on the case between Honourable Atiku Semiu and Rt. Hon Liadi Abdulazeez on March 2, 2022, the claimant's lead counsel, Mr Francis King has refused to accept the council's ruling. The court proceedings and hearing which took place at the Lagos State University Law Building, as observed by ACJ-LASU correspondent saw the Chief Judge of SJC give his final verdict on the case. According to ACJ-LASU's reporter, the Chief Judge, Daniel Akinyemi said that an apology must be issued to the 28th Speaker of the Faculty of Arts, Hon Liadi Abdulazeez (Defendant) within 48 hours by the Claimant, Hon. Atiku Semiu for the latter's gross misconduct. Also, Judge Akinyemi ruled that a fine of the sum of 20,000 naira is to be paid to Hon.
