The latest election saw a number of shocking twists and turns, with the disqualification of the apparent front-runner only two days before the election (Stakeholder) and a call for support from him to his supporters to support Clyde.  The results of the election were surprising, with Clyde emerging as the President-Elect, leaving many students wondering how he managed to secure the majority of the votes.  The 33rd LASUSU elections that took place  today on the 7th February 2023, at the various faculties at the Lagos State University University has finally come to an end. Similoluwa Ifedayo, reporting from the Faculty of Law, brings us the final update on the student election.  The election process has come to an end with a calm atmosphere prevailing throughout. Members of the Faculty of Law have cast their votes and are now sitting around the Law Pavilion. Aspirants, including DVD, were seen around the polling unit monitoring the election process. Although there was a low turnout of electors, the IEC members at the Faculty of Law managed to carry out their duties efficiently. The election was initially supposed to end at 3:30 PM but was extended to 4:00 PM to allow more members of the faculty to vote. By Damilare Adeleye The Lagos State University Students Union- Independent Electoral Committee has released the substantive results of the newly elected LASUSU executives.  The election exercise which was declared by the Chief electoral chairman of the Electoral Committee as free and fair, was conducted yesterday across the various faculties in in the three major campuses of LASU.  According to the result which was obtained by ACJ-LASU correspondent to earlier today, confirmed Adelankun Adeoye as the Elected LASUSU President. It was gathered that Adeoye, the 28th President of Faculty of Arts Students Association, defeated all his three opponents with a total votes of 2208.  Meanwhile, Oresanya Zakariaya popularly known as E. Zaculus case 1863 votes to emerge as the First runner, while Aina Oluwafemi also called "Femland" made with 1686 votes and Ibraimoh Igbo Ibrahim took 1229 votes. By Ayomide Sotubo A popular student activist, Comrade Alowonle Nurudeen popularly known as Omomewa has been confirmed to be dead.  Presently, what is obtainable is that he was shot dead in a robbery incident last night.  Speculations spreading across board report that he was shot dead, but not in a robbery incident. Other reports have also stated that he was shot dead at the school gate.  Ex-lasuites President, SAMGRIN also confirmed on social media that Omomewa was meant to pass the night at his place before his eventual death.    Omomewa was a one-time presidential aspirant in LASUSU and became famous as the "voice of the voiceless students".  He led the Educational Rights Campaign (ERC) in Lagos before he graduated.  More will be uncovered to reveal the true nature of his death in the coming days.

Lagos State Students under the umbrella of National Union of Lagos State students, NULASS has congratulated the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on his 56th birthday anniversary. NULASS, in a terse statement jointly signed by its President, Nul. Shasanya Akinola, Nul. Edu Adam Olayiwola, General Secretary, Nul. Hassan Abdulsalam, Public Relations Officer 1 and Nul. Eniafe Abdulyekeen, Public Relations Officer 2, commended Sanwo-Olu for all the strong and tough decisions he had made as a governor of the state. NULASS, while commending the governor, said despite criticism the governor remained focus and that his decisions have been progressive. Ajayi Samiat Shittu Mujeebah Lagos State University School of Communication (LASUSOC) held her 15th Faculty election on Thursday, 14 June, 2021 at the School of Communication New Faculty Building Lecture Hall 1. The election which was held to fill in various executive positions in the Students' association started at about 11:00 AM. Twenty Five members of the Independent Electoral Committee(IEC), Independent Audit Committee(IAC), Electoral Petition Committee(EPC), turned up in their uniforms indicating their various positions in the different committees.
