Image
By: Similoluwa Ifedayo  The Lagos State University, LASU, Faculty of Law, otherwise known as LASULAWS, has once again become the center of attention for all the wrong reasons.  In what has been dubbed as the most controversial student election in recent memory, the Faculty of Law has become the Faculty of Seasoned Movies and Unlimited Drama. The latest election saw a number of shocking twists and turns, with the disqualification of the apparent front-runner only two days before the election (Stakeholder) and a call for support from him to his supporters to support Clyde.  The results of the election were surprising, with Clyde emerging as the President-Elect, leaving many students wondering how he managed to secure the majority of the votes. This has raised questions about the validity of the election and the role of the Independent Electoral Committee in overseeing the process. The political apathy among LASU students is also a cause for concern, as many stud...

5 Areas To Getting Involved On Campus And Its Benefits To Your Success

Image
Bolaji Badmus If I asked you what your major reason for being in the university is, I'm pretty sure you'd say "to get good grades and earn a degree" or "to be a graduate". Well, while it's  true that the major reason you're in the university is to acquire tertiary education and earn a degree, there are also a bunch of things in-between that are just as important. I was going through my LinkedIn page one time and I came across a post from Mike Bloomberg. The part of the post that got me was about getting involved on campus. Here's the post 👇🏽 Although the post was about covid 19 & school reopening, he started it with what made him find greatness beyond the classroom on campus, INVOLVEMENT ! The university is like a world on its own. It is so much more than sitting in class and listening to lectures! (yes, I discovered that). It's supposed to be a holistic experience. A lot can testify to the fact that getting invo...

Make no mistake, the intentions of the 31st President are noble ones. Under the harsh economic conditions that Nigerians live in, cutting down the cost of transportation should be a welcome development.  Badecious said "The committee that will effect the change has not been appointed by the house, the house has not had their sitting yet and secondly, the shuttle association on campus has already written an appeal letter stating some reasons why they want to maintain 50 Naira. They said they used to buy Engine oil for 3500 Naira and now they're buying for 7500 Naira. A litre of petrol which is supposed t...
