Editorial: Dear LASUites, Welcome Back to School!

Great Lasuites, truly, the past few months have not been easy as we have been made to face an array of academic, and extracurricular activities as well as personal tasks head-on. A lot has happened in the course of this academic journey in just this year alone but the good news is that we are still here. 

A few days ago, it would be an understatement to say that your capacity to tackle challenges was not overstretched once again with the release of last semester's results via the dreaded LIDC but still as said earlier, we are still here, and are ready to face a new set of tasks in this new semester. 

For some, it is their last, and for some others, it is 2 out of 8 and so on but the most important thing is that we are here, still kicking, beaming with hope, feeling optimistic and positive about that bright future ahead of us. Regardless, we deserve to be congratulated and commended because it is not easy irrespective of our levels of study.

Now, this semester does not promise to be a smooth or bumpy ride but it will definitely be a mixture of both. The good news is that we will overcome and be victorious at the end of it all. This 2nd semester has a good number of activities packed in it as well as academic tasks so it is beneficial to know that as we juggle these tasks together, we should pick them wisely. Never forget the main reason why we came to this institution. 

For the political leaders on campus, as you, all try to convince/persuade the student-electorates to follow and promise you their votes in the coming 33rd LASUSU General Elections, please do so with civility and discipline. Don't be violent about it. Lead by example and always know that you are also a student and no position makes you better and bigger than any other student. Let your campaigns be responsible and peaceful.

Also, for the great students of LASU, we have only but a short period to meet up with the demands of this semester. So, don't be carried away by all other activities. It is time to hit the ground running by striving hard to be at your best performance. Remember that we have a dream to be a "baller" and not a "mechanic". That dream has started, it is time to continue. 

On this note, the Association of Campus Journalists, LASU Chapter (ACJ-LASU) welcomes us all back to school.
