LASU to Launch App for Monitoring Class Attendance: DVC ACCAD.


The Lagos state university deputy vice chancellor, Professor Noah A.K at the orientation ceremony held on Wednesday March 11 at the university main auditorium for the current freshmen, made the revelation about plans to apply technology to monitor students class attendance.





The Deputy vice chancellor in a bid to encourage the jambites on the need to maximize the opportunity given to them by admitting them as students of the university said that "to end up with a first class student needs to have laid a good foundation from 100 level" and he mentioned the 70% requirements for the distinction grade advising the students to work towards it.





the programme started with the national anthem and LASU anthem few minutes after 10 in the LASU main auditorium.





Present at the event were: the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic, professor Noah A. K whom representef the vice chancellor,
also in attendant wad Dr orinu-A who represented the university librarian at the event as well as the Deputy bursar
Mrs kemi from NAN
Head of exam and record.





The D. V. C was the first to mount the stage claiming he has little time to spend in the hall. He said to end up with a first class student needs to have lay a good foundation from 100 level, He also talked about meeting up to 70%of the attendance of each class. "An app will be launched next semester to monitor class attendance." and he also addressed the issue of indecent characters noting that:
"No marlians in our university ".





He mentioned tgat 75 first class student will be graduating this year which increased that of last graduating set which was 57.





The next speaker on stage the university librarian who said/that "The library can contain 1000 students".
He also talked about use of library, bags not being allowed, eating, noise making and receiving calls as not being tolerated within the library premises.





The deputy bursar also spoke about payment of school fees. "Student are expected to pay personally and no refund of such payment will be made.





Finally, the head of exam and records talked about how to calculate GP
emphasizing that students are expected to offer minimum of 18unit and maximum of 24,
and the end of four years they are expected to graduate with 144units minimally.
He also talked about keeping our profiles and password and also to be checking our status regularly.





The University band ended the day by performing well, and entertaining everyone.
