The LASU Town Hall meeting is an initiative from the vice Chancellor of Lagos State University Professor Olarenwaju Adigun Fagbohun which started in 2016, three years ago.
The meeting is to serve as a forum for student to openly interact with the management and ask questions in any area they are confused with and also lay complaint with any aspect they are not satisfied with.
Dean's from different department and Directors of different arms of the institution was invited and present to answer questions that concerns their respective fields. Students with questions were called upon to ask and lay their complaint which will be attended to.
The meeting was able to gather student's complain about various uncomfortable scenarios, ranging from, few restrooms, insufficient lecture room and hall, lack of public address system and, insufficient fans in their respective faculties and Department.
The issues were addressed by the vice Chancellor and he promised to improve them and also pleaded with the students not to damage the amenities that have been kept in place to facilitate the learning process.
However, on indecent dressing by the students, this was strongly tackled by the Director of students affairs he also reminded the students on the types of dressing that are prohibited in LASU, students should not put on knickers to the school, palms and slippers are not allowed except on Fridays, the size and length of the hair do by the females should be moderate.
The VC also said "students should present themselves the way they want to be addressed"
