In previous debates held by the Lagos State University for it's students, it's college of medicine has always lagged behind.In this present edition themed WORLD WAR 3, LASUCOM as the Lagos State University's College of Medicine is known as, has been implored by the debate society of the school to participate in the debate.

In preparation for this, inter-departmental debates which were scheduled to hold on Saturday 14th of March on the College of Medicine's campus at the Gold Hostel.

Representatives from the Debate society of LASU were also present as Judges for the debate.Mr Akanmu Oluwafemi - the President of the Debate society and also the Chief Judge.Miss Amusa Zainab - the Vice president of the Debate Society and also the assisting Judge.

Miss Tolu Agoi Abisola- the Director of organising and welfare who also doubled as the timekeeper.Debaters were to be for or against a title "EUTHANASIA SHOULD BE LEGALIZED IN NIGERIA" Before the commencement of the Debate, rules were read out to the debaters by the Chief Judge amongst of which the time for each speaker was said and the judging criteria of the judges.

The contestants of the debate are from different departments and levels within the campus.

Their names areMr.Gafar Olamilekan Olanshile from the department of Dentistry- Level not stated. Miss Ayo Oluwabukola Sharon a 500lvl student from the department of Nursing Miss Adedotun Itunuoluwa Elizabeth a 200lvl student from the department of Nursing.

Adesiji-Adelekan Ademilayo Eunice a 200lvl student from the department of Pharmacology, Friday Ekaete Nancy a 200lvl student from the department of Pharmacology.

There was a tie breaker between Miss Ayo, Miss Friday and Miss Adesiji-Adelekan of which Miss Adesiji-Adelekan emerged winner.

Miss Adedotun being the one with the highest mark with a score of 84%.Two people were chosen by the Judges after constructive criticism of each contestant, to move to the next stage to hold April 2nd at the SL EDU hall, Lagos State University, Ojo campus.

These contestants are Miss Adedotun Itunuoluwa Elizabeth and Miss Adesiji-Adelekan Ademilayo Eunice. The judges said this is the first time they've enjoyed a debate by the students of Lasucom and they hope to see more of it in the future.

Kudos to the College of Medicine's representatives and we hope to see them at the finals.
