African society is surrounded with people of diverse cultures, tribes, ethnic groups and values, and for several scores of years African society remained a well-cultured society living together in their different kingdoms, empires and vassalages with unity and co-peaceful existence among one another irrespective of diverse cultures. But today, African society has been contending with myriads of forces which include refugee crisis and internal displacement respectively.





There is no iota doubt that Africa and the world in general have been vulnerable to refugee crisis and internal displacement which of course has punctured virtually all the continents in the world, including Africa where it’s prevalent and has gone widespread. Internal Displacement and Refugee crisis has become one of the major contending and alarming issues encounter by myriads of African nations.





Africa happens to be one of the major continents vulnerable to refugee crisis and internal displacement, alongside, Asia, and some other continents having similar issue of refugee crisis and internal displacement which is at minimal compare to the high rate of refugee crisis incurred by African society. In the case of Nigeria, Uganda, Darfur, Liberia, Angola, Sudan, these countries have colossally incurred incessant refugee crisis and internal displacement in the past which unequivocally call for continental and national attention. It’s conspicuously clear that Liberia, Angola, Nigeria, Central African Republic, Uganda cannot be under-emphasized in term of countries who had been suffering from this menace of refugee crisis leading to the rise of internal displacement.

CONCEPTUAL CLARIFICATION
Refugee
In a spit sense of it, a refugee is generally referred to as a displaced person who has been forced to cross national boundaries and who cannot return home safely without harm as a result of crisis or vulnerability. In a nutshell of the term, it can be referred to as “asylum seeker”, they are allowed to be granted refugee status by the United National High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), if they legally make claim for refuge.





Crisis
Today in Africa, Crisis has become one of the factors militating against co-peaceful existence among citizen of different tribes and ethnic groups. Crisis is seen as a violent or drastic act or abnormal situation or state characterized with damages, shocks and strains which of course leading to chaos and anarchy in governance.





IDPs
In the broad sense of it, IDPs means Internal Displaced Person. IDPs can be defined as a person who has been internally displaced. They can also be referred to as expatriates or emigrants. IDPs are of course forced to evacuate from their locality or community in the bid of escaping untimely death. In Nigeria, the case of Boko Haram has become a major threat to National security, those who incur from Boko Haram crisis would be asked to evacuate from their community in attempt to enjoy peace.





In Africa, the most internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) are focused in three countries which are Sudan with between 4.5 million and 5.2 million, the Democratic Republic of Congo of about 1.7 million and Somalia with 1.5 million (Bamgbose J.A ). It was recorded at the the end of 2014, there were 38.2 million IDPs wide-reaching, the highest level since 1989, The countries with the largest IDP populations were Syria (7.6 million), Colombia (6 million), Iraq (3.6 million), the Democratic Republic of the Congo (2.8 million), Sudan (2.2 million), South Sudan (1.9 million), Pakistan (1.4 million), Nigeria (1.2 million) and Somalia (1.1 million) (Wikipedia). It was recorded that 50% of Internally Displaced Persons were believed to be people from urban areas.





What then are the ways to address, solve and force Refugee crisis and internal displacement in Africa?





Security
In Africa today, the issue of insecurity has become one of the major threat to human life. Some African countries of course are waging weighty war against insecurity.





Education
Lack of education is one of the causes that has gone far to deteriorate African society





Population
Over-population has also contributed immensely to the upsurge of refugee crisis and internal displacement in Africa. In actual fact, instead of populated countries should enjoy the advantages of their populations in terms of economic boom, it’s rather worsening the economic., More importantly, poverty, Cultural and ethnic discrimination, Unemployment and Corruption must be strictly addressed.





There is a need to critically envisioning and working towards restructuring, developing and putting technical standards in place in the bid to actualize safety and compatibility in term of forcing Refugee and Internal displacement a path to transformation in Africa. There is no doubt that Africa happens to be one of the vulnerable continents, and there is a need for government and African stakeholders to look into this conflicting and contending menace in attempt to provide lasting solution through mutually consistent decisions among stakeholders, government, firms, interest groups and organisations in order to force refugee and internal displacement in Africa.
