After the number of the COVID-19 cases increased in Nigeria, the Federal Government gave a public announcement that parts of the country should be on Lockdown, especially Lagos where most of the cases have been recorded. Lagos accounting for 57.37% of the COVID-19 cases in Nigeria as at 11:00pm April 14th 2020 after the 2 weeks of the initially declared Lockdown.

During the first 2 weeks of the Lockdown, the government promised that food reliefs would be given to residents of these states in which few to none got these relief and part of the few that got had nothing to write home about of the reliefs.
During the first 2 weeks of the COVID-19 lockdown, residents of the Lagos - Ogun state border areas complained of some certain hooligans robbing them and lack of security in those areas.
Areas like Baruwa,Abesan Estate,Abule Egba,Agege have been victims of these hoodlums that call themselves Awawa and One million boys.

Residents of these area said that they rob them in daylight and at night.
Some of the residents at Abule Egba said these hoodlums come in their numbers at night and at broad daylight and they rape the women of the homes where they don't see valuables or money to collect. We may now wonder where the security personnels are, most times the local police station is called and it is either they don't respond at all or they respond slowly.

The residents now have to battle hunger,lose the little valuables and food they have and also be their own security. Local watch keepers and family men now come out at night making bonfires by burning used vehicle tires and keeping themselves harmed with various sharp and dangerous objects all in order to keep their families and community safe.

Now on the eve of April 13th 2020, the Nigerian President in a public address to the nation has announced that 2 weeks of lockdown be added to the previous lockdown and it is for the whole country.
But how do residents of these places survive for longer?
Stay home the government said but we are hungry and terrorized, our homes are no longer safe.
