fiat justitia ruat caelum

Consequent upon a series of inquiries and investigations carried out by the panel to look into alleged irregularities surrounding the NANCE elections, the panel hereby makes the below observations followed by recommendations.

It should be noted that these observations and recommendations are in no way prejudicial but are reached following the principles of justice and equality.

It should be noted that these observations and recommendations are in no way prejudicial but are reached following the principles of justice and equality.

OBSERVATIONS

• Failure to observe due process in the establishment of the Electoral Committee.

• The unconstitutionality surrounding the appointment of the Chairman of the Electoral Committee.

• Conspiracy between an electoral officer and a contestant for the purpose of altering the electoral processes and results in exchange for financial gratuity.

• Refusal to deliver evidence that may aid the investigations and answer some important questions that bother on the irregularities surrounding the election.

• Undue influence in the electoral processes and attempted results alterations.

• Executive influence in the process of the election.

• Non-availability of Electoral agents leaving the electoral processes and results vulnerable to manipulations.

• Unnecessary prohibition of certain persons to participate in the voting exercise.

• Behaviors and conduct of certain schools and persons to dent the image of the association through the publication of articles, coupled with the restlessness discovered therein the outbursts.

RECOMMENDATIONS

• Subject to the provision of Chapter 3, Section 17(1) which expressly states thus: "Elections into the various offices shall be held annually at a period decided by the General Assembly."

The incumbent president failed to inform the General Assembly and observe proper process of formulating the Electoral Committee.

Thus, the election should be cancelled.

• The conspiracy between the chairman of the electoral committee and a contestant WOULD influence the process and outcome of the election, if executed.

The attempted unlawful conduct is frowned at by the Panel. The Chairman of the Electoral Committee should be suspended from handling further elections.

The contestant should be suspended from contesting in the next NANCE election.

• The conspiracy between the executive member and a contestant MAY or MAY NOT alter the due process of the election and the result, if executed.

The Conspiracy is agreed to be internal. There's no enough evidence that it will influence the result of the election.

Thus, both parties are free to participate in forthcoming elections.

• The failure of some invited persons to provide evidence that may help the investigations creates a skepticism view toward the election.

The electoral processes and results collation appear flawed and full of irregularities.

• The schools and persons guilty of the conducts and behaviors capable of denting the image of the association should write an apology letter posted on the very media platforms which the demeaning publications were made.

Members of the association should endeavor to speak out in cases of corrupt practices and intentions, conspiracies, and illegal conducts that may dent the image of the association. It'd be rather disheartening to witness allegations raised after the deed has been executed.

The panel appreciates the patience of all members of the association. It hopes these recommendations will be considered in good light to make a progressive pathway for the association.

Sincere regards,

Signed: NANCE INVESTIGATIVE PANEL
