Lagos State University [LASU] will hold a 1-day virtual training session on administration of digitalised performance appraisal [i-SPADEMS] process for Non-Academic members of staff [Junior and Senior] as follows:

Please NOTE that this training exercise is COMPULSORY for all Directors of Service Centres, Heads of Departments/Divisions, Faculty Officers, Heads of Units/Centres, Secretaries of Schools/Centres and all Non-Academic Staff Members (Junior and Senior) as stakeholders in the Assessment Evaluation.
It is STRONGLY ADVISED that you join the training exercise with a Laptop or Desktop Computer in order to ensure enhanced visibility and understanding of the demonstration of the synchronous flow of the performance appraisal process.

FRSC LAGOS SECTOR COMMANDER IN LASU, SEEKS COLLABORATION TO SOLVE APAPA GRIDLOCK
The Sector Commander, Lagos State, in the Company of his men Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Olusegun Ogungbemide, on Thursday, 8th October, 2020, paid the Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University (LASU), Professor 'Lanre Fagbohun, SAN, NPOM, a courtesy Visit, at his Office, Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, Ojo, Lagos.
Though, the visit was to explore areas of collaboration between the two institutions, LASU and FRSC, but, the focus of the fruitful discussion shifted to the lingering Apapa gridlock, which has become a major source of concern to the Federal and Lagos State Governments.
The host, Professor Fagbohun, was highly elated by the visit. He eulogized the Corps Marshal, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, who was the guest speaker at the School of Transport Public Lecture, sometime ago.
"Your visit is very important. The corps Marshal is an homeboy. A friend of this Institution. A lover of this Institution. He is a man, full of ideas. Through you, we want to thank him. Thank you for finding us worthy, to pay us this visit", the Vice Chancellor stated.
Speaking further, the LASU numero uno described the transport sector as very critical to the Nigerian economy.
The Vice Chancellor assured that the synergy between LASU and FRSC would yield a lot of positives. He averred that such collaborations with other organisations didn't go unnoticed by Times Higher Education [THE] World University rating 2021 that gave LASU a good standing. "When they rank, they take into consideration teaching, research and community service and this kind of collaboration is community service", Professor Fagbohun noted.
"Working together enhanced our ranking. Such collaborations are good. The two of us, working together, we will have a better country. When we criticize Mr. President, Mr. Governor, what are we doing in our own little corner? Even, the US, the UK and others have their own challenges. I believe Nigeria would overcome these challenges, too ", Professor Fagbohun exclaimed.
Finally, the Vice Chancellor was optimistic the partnership would work, assuring it would not fail and LASU would as well be up and doing.
"In our own Institution, we operate all inclusive governance. LASU is strict on discipline. If the Vice Chancellor is not around, the university runs, you don't even know I am not around. Let's deepen our collaboration. You are welcome ", he ended.
In his response, Mr Olusegun Ogungbemide, remarked that he was full of joy to be in LASU and the University was a departure from what it used to be years back. He thanked the Vice Chancellor and the Management team for having him and his men.
The LASU, now, is different from what it used to be, long ago. The Vice Chancellor, am seeing is a complete gentleman. My interest in him is reloaded. I was thirsty to meet you. A lot has been achieved under you. I am in the right place. I go to people who add value. I see you as my teacher and my Professor. I have no regrets, coming, here. I have learnt a lot. I don't know that FRSC is highly respected and held in high esteem, out there", he stated.
The Lagos Sector Commander boldly requested for Lagos State University's assistance as well as collaboration in tackling the perennial gridlock on the Apapa corridor that leads to the nation’s seaports.
“Without a solid transportation network, the socio economy of that country is zero. Land transportation is very important. I seek collaboration with you, sir and LASU on the Apapa corridor. We can work together. We need to work together and work with LASU. It is a great honour to be here", the visitor ended.
On behalf of the School of Transport, the Sub Dean, Prof. Charles Asenime thanked the sector commander and his entourage, for coming to the Institution of excellence and assured the collaboration would work.
The Acting Registrar, Mr. Ridwan Mustapha, on behalf of the University Management brought the visit to an end with the vote of thanks.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Damola Oke, the DVC (Academics), Prof. Elias Wahab and the University Librarian, Dr Emmanuel Adebayo were the Principal Officers in attendance.
The Deputy Registrar, Vice Chancellor’s Office, Mrs. Anat Adesunkanmi and Deputy Registrar/Special Assistant to the Vice Chancellor, Mr Wale Anthony were at the event, too. The Dean, School of Transport, Prof. Samuel Odewunmi was in attendance as well.
Also, members of staff and some students from School of Transport were in attendance.

LASU RECEIVES 2,013 BOOKS FROM DR. FELIX AKINTAYO SAWYERR
The Africa Centre of Excellence - Lagos State University has continued to find favour in the eyes of great philanthropists and respected donors across the country.
This time, it was one of the illustrious citizens in the State - Dr. Felix Akintayo SAWYERR who blessed the Institution's Library with Two Thousand And Thirteen (2,013) books.
The books were donated by Sawyerr in memory of his late friend, Mr. Felix Neequaye Akpe, who had bequeathed the books to him.
The books donated that are on various academic programmes of the University were according to the University Librarian, Dr. Emmanuel Lai Adebayo rare books and books of history.
Dr. Adebayo added that the huge volume of books donated will be of good use for all the world class students of the University, in particular, students in the Faculty of Arts, School of Communication, Social Sciences and Management Sciences.
The University Librarian further averred that the books were donated through the office of Vice Chancellor, Prof. 'Lanre Fagbohun, SAN, NPOM to the University.
Recall that under the current University Administration ably being led by the Distinguished Professor of Environmental Law, Professor 'Lanre, Fagbohun, SAN, NPOM, the Second (2nd) Best University in Nigeria as rated by Times Higher Education (THE) World University rankings 2021, had received huge volume of books from the families of Chief Bayo Kehinde (SAN), Late Prof. Abubakar Momoh, Nigerian Law Firm, Hybrid Solicitors and the Chairman, Editorial Board, the Nation, Mr. Sam Omatseye,
