  • Begins warning strike
  • Postpones Examination
  • Shut-down school premises
  • Only LASU international students were allowed in

The Non-Academic Staff Union of the Lagos State University, has begun a warning strike, today, 8th February 2021, due to various breaches in agreement with the government.

While students were locked out of the school premises, only the LASU international school students were allowed into the school premises, using an unusual route, “Back of Education” to ward off other students of the university into the premises.

The Dean Of Student Affairs, Dr. Olumoko, while addressing students, said that the school authority was already making contact with state government and the issue would be resolved soon, till then the exams are postponed and a new date would be fixed.

On this note he told all the students to go to their various hostels as the university would send news to them through various platforms.

While speaking to one of our correspondent, ACJ-LASU, was able to gather some frustrating replies from students present at the school, one who identified herself as Mariam, a 200l student of Education, claimed to have entered the school premises as early as 7:15, in preparation for her exams, only to be locked in the school as they would not allow her to go home, fearing others might troop in.

A lecturer was also heard, instructing her students not to bother coming to the school premises, “Strike is on, don't bother coming with your project” one can sense the unawareness of the whole situation, which likely mean, some lecturers of the school weren't aware of the sudden event.
