By ABDULSEMIU MONSUROH Lagos State University defeated other universities and won first place at the Southwest Inter-tertiary debate competition organized by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) led by Comrade Kappo Olawale. The debate, themed, "Clash of Thoughts" was contested by representatives from ten universities. The grand finale took place on Thursday at the Buba Marwa Auditorium, LASU Ojo Campus. Examinations are nothing new, especially not for the newly admitted 200 level of the Lagos State University College of Medicine. The examination styles werent exactly identical to the previous exams written by most students and in no way identical to the most recent school examinations written in 100L pre-med school at the Lagos State Universitys Main Campus. It was last held in 2019 as the tournament was put on hold last year due to the suspension of school activities caused by the outbreak of the novel virus, Covid-19. This development was announced in a press release circulated by the Public Relations Officer of the Students' Union, Yettydlaw. LASUSU Champions League is a knockout football tournament played by all faculties in the Lagos State University. This year's edition will be played on the renovated pitch of the sports centre which would be open for general use from rain semester. Faculties would be required to provide two teams which will represent them in the match. The University's satelite campuses; College of medicine, School of Agriculture and defending champions, School of Engineering shall also take part in the tournament.

Maxine Stowe, confirmed that Wailer died on Tuesday at the Medical Associates Hospital in Kingston, Jamaica. Bunny Wailer, born in Neville Livingston on 10 April 1947. before his rise to stardom, he was known as Bunny Livingston and a he was a member of the original Wailers trio with Bob Marley and Peter Tosh.
