The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun on Thursday, 22 April, 2021, rewarded the Overall Best Graduating Student of Lagos State University, Oladimeji Shotunde with a two- bedroom bungalow and a sum of Two Million Naira.
Shotunde who graduated with a CGPA of 4.98, a record for his Alma mater, was presented with the rewards at an event organised by the Ogun State Government tagged 'Celebration of Ogun Laureates 2021' which was held at the Obas' Complex, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
Reacting to the award, Shotunde tweeted from his Twitter account, @Dimeji_Shotunde, "The Governor was kind enough to give me a 2 Bedroom Bungalow and 2 Million Naira. I appreciate this gesture so much. I extend my sincere appreciation to the entire Ogun State Government. I pledge to always portray myself as a worthy ambassador of the State".
The event was organised to honour students and teachers, who won laurels in different educational competions such as mathematics quiz, JETS, Teacher of the Year, NYSC Presidential Award and so on.
Governor Dapo Abiodun in his words said the awardees had further put Ogun on the global pedestal, hence, the need to fete them.
He also added that the achievements recorded by the students and teachers are on their own, entry tests for greater achievement.
