MUSAN LASU, Inducts New Members

The anticipated music induction ceremony, first of it's kind in the department of music was staged on Thursday fifth of May 2021. The ceremony commenced at exactly 12pm with a musical performance from Gbolahan kazeem ( kayzoblaze) singer, Samuel Egbedire (keyboardist), Ademije Dare(saxophonist), Femi A.k.a God's fingers (guitarist).
Dj Connect the official disk jockey of the day was introduced after which Aina Luke Oluwaseyi popularly known as Alos Jay took the mic as the official host of the staged event, and he also made sure to use his dancing skills to wow the audience.

The opening prayer and remark was delivered by Dr. Mrs Yomi Bello after which the NATUONA, school and department anthem was taken in order of their priority. The two stanzas of the national anthem was led by the Lagos State University Band with everyone on their feet paying due respect to our great country, for once the Nigerian anthem was romantic were the words of the co-host miss Annabel also known as Annis .
The Lagos State University anthem came next, a beautifully composed song by the LASU band and as always the crowd went wild with the last lines we are lasu and we are proud . The Music department anthem came next still by the LASU band.

The master of ceremony Alos Jay with a commendable sense of humor and friendly disposition engaged the audience by comparing public and private school students with the use of rhymes as twinkle twinkle little star and bojuboju. Next was a classical performance by a student of the Lagos State University Taiwo Ademolu a unique performance encouraging hard work in students.
The presence of Dr. David Alimo who composed the Lagos State University anthem was recognised just before the Association of theatre arts students ATAS LASU made a grand entrance with a dance performance that was nothing short of spectacular.

Personalities like Prof. Taiwo Ajayi the Dean Faculty of Art Prof. Shola Fosudo head of department Theatre arts and Music, Dr. Bashiru Animashaun subdean faculty of arts. Dr. Ayodele head of department English department, Dr. Oseni Afisi head of department Philosophy, Dr. Animashaun head of department Foreign language, Dr. Wunmi Adeyebure Philosophy department, Dr. Femi Fasheun founding head of Theatre arts and Music, Dr. Olawunmi Oni from the English department, Dr. Tunji Azeez, Dr. Olawale lawal, Dr. Ajanifuja h.o.u, Dr.Olugbegba Woko, Dr. Mrs Abayomi Bello, Dr. Ganiu Abosoye Mr Abiodun Adebiyi, Mr Ayoola Sodeke amongst many others were present.
The Dean of the Faculty Prof. Taiwo Ajayi's birthday was celebrated as the LASU band did a beautiful rendition of a Happy birthday song in his honour. The MC Alos Jay also celebrated Prof. Taiwo Àjàyí by singing a happy birthday song in Fuji genre, which once again displayed the talents of the MC.

The African chorus group ascended the stage in a uniform African print attire performing a praise song in Igbo language. The crowd went wild as another amazing artiste, Emma Onega displayed amazing talent with his performance that combined different songs to tell a story, after which he sang a song titled wahala for who no fit dance.

Contestants the Mr and Miss Musan pageants were introduced , 7 female contestants and 7 male contestants.
Female contestant 6, Miss Omilere Anuoluwapo a 200LVL Music student emerged the Miss Musan winner, while the 1st runner up was contestant 7, a 300 LVL English Student Miss Chukwuma Gift.
In the male category Idowu Mofoluwasho, a 100LVL Student emerged Mr. MUSAN while Olusesi Israel Temitope a 200LVL Music Student emerged as the first runner up.
The most elegant female is a 300LVL English student, Oluwayinjesu while the most handsome male is a diploma music student, Aliemeke Sammy.

Another musical performance followed the introduction of the contestants by Atanda Ayobami, she performed the song Satan be gone by Asa and one of her singles Reckless. In her words this is overwhelming.

After the announcement of winners and the presentation of their cash price, the programme officially came to an end
