Professor. Adenike Omotunde Boyo is to succeed Professor. Oyedamola Oke as the New Vice-Chancellor (Administration)of the Lagos State University after been elected by the Senate on Tuesday, 12th October 2021.
Professor. Boyo emerged winner against Professor. Yinus dauda Adeleke, the other candidate for the position by 118 to 04 votes after the election. Although the election is yet to be ratified by the university's governing council, she is to succeed Professor. Oke whose tenure as deputy vice-chancellor ended on 4th October 2021.
She is a Professor of physics and also the dean of the faculty of science. She is the first Professor of Physics and the first female Physicist in the Department of Physics in the university.

She was seconded to Lagos State Ministry of Science and Technology as a Director of Science and Technology in Policy, Programs, and Promotion from 2005 to 2007 and was a Consultant to the same Ministry for three years from 2007 to 2010
She has won several awards and grants and recently, she won an award of a research grant in Gendered Design in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) in Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs).
She currently is the Parish Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (Amen Assembly Parish) in Lagos, from 2013 to date
