A professor at the Lagos State University (LASU), Taibat Bolanle Danmole, has been confirmed to have passed on after a brief illness.
Professor Danmole who passed on at the age of 71, days after her retirement at the Lagos State University to join the husband in Ilorin, North-central Nigeria
ACJ reports that Danmole was the eldest daughter of the late Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi. Her death came exactly 28 days after her father joined his ancestors.
Danmole was said to have passed on at the age of 71, days after her retirement at the varsity to join her husband in Ilorin, Northcentral Nigeria.
A family source confirmed her death, maintaining that the Don, who was also married to another lecturer, died yesterday and would be laid to rest on Sunday in accordance with Islamic rites in the state.
The deceased who was a Professor of Science Education at the Lagos State University (LASU) and governing council member at Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, died Saturday evening in Ilorin, after a close to about a year sickness, a family source said.
As gathered, the late academic was on March 19, 1951, said to have been at the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) before she transferred her service to the LASU where she served between 2008 and 2010 and between 2016 and 2019 as the Head of Department of Science Education in LASU.
The Professor who was elevated to the Professorial in 2016 got married to a professor, Prof. Hakeem Danmole, who was also a one-time Commissioner in Oyo state. before deciding to retire from service.
It would be recalled that the father of the lecturer died on December 12, 2021, at the age of 95 years after a brief illness in the country.
Her death came few days to the 40th day Fidau prayer for her deceased father who reigned for 48 years as Soun of Ogbomoso.
