31st LASUSU Champions League Delay: Sports Director Clears Airs, Gives New Date

In  a bid to ease the  tension surrounding the delay of the 31st Lagos State University Student's Union, LASUSU Championns League competition, the Union's Sports Director, Adeyemo Azeez Olamilekan popularly known as Hayzed 10 has cleared the air on the matter, with a new date for continuation of the event.

It should be recalled that on March 2, 2022,   an altercation occurred between the Faculty of Engineering and Arts football team at the Sports Complex which triggered the delay of the event till further notice.

However, in a related development, a detailed explanation of the causes of the delay has been made by  Hayzed 10 in an interview with ACJ-LASU's correspondent.

According to him, the delay of the champions league event is majorly due to necessary procedures which have to be followed before the football match can continue.

Hayzed 10 evealed that a detailed report of the March 2 incident has been given to a panel, alongside necessary letters submitted to various units such as the Security, health amongst others, of which positive responses have been received from them so far.

Speaking on the altercation that happened on March,2,  Hayzed 10 expressed that football was a game of passion that usually shows a wild reaction, once the other team loses. He said peace will occur when there was self-control.

He emphasized that "None of the players spearheaded the fight between engineering and Art's football team, the fans caused the chaos and the players joined when the disagreement escalated."

Also, Citing a similar event that could have ended in a fight between UNILAG and LASU football teams in the past, Hayzed 10 stressed the need for the same show of self-control then, among footballers and fans in the future.

However in order to prevent the occurrence of such issues, the sport Director (Hayzed 10) disclosed that plans were in motion already as players and official are to be seen on the field, while fans are to remain at the pavilion with the field entrances shut.

Nevertheless the 31st LASUSU Sports Director assured that the champions league event is to continue next week without fail, with hopes that finals of the events will hold on the Lagos State University, LASU Vice Chancellor's birthday.
