One of the Communication Student Association of Lagos State University, COSA-LASU Presidential aspirants have filed a case against the COSA independent Electoral Commission, IEC due to the latter disqualifying him from contesting for the 16th COSA election.
According to the facts and reports gathered by the reporter, the Claimant: Ogunkanmi Adefolarin Jacob popularly known as J4, who was contesting for the post of the President of the Association (COSA) was disqualified for not meeting the requirement for the post he is contesting for.
The requirement in question has to do with the spending of at least two academic sessions in the University before a Communication Student can run for the Presidential seat of the association. And due to the reason that the Claimant is a Direct- Entry, D.E Student who has only successfully spent one academic session and a semester he was disqualified by the IEC following their adherence to that clause of the constitution.
Nonetheless, the case has been brought by the Claimant to Lagos State University Student's Union, LASUSU high court today; Thursday 28, April 2022.
More details of the story to follow after the hearing.
