Aderonmu Zainab, an Alumnus of the Lagos State University has been declared the overall Lagos State Youth Ambassador for the 2022/2023 session by the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development on 28th of October, 2022.

The new appointment means that Miss Aderonmu Zainab will lead 5 other ambassadors, who are representing the 5 major divisions of the state namely: Ikorodu, Badagry, Ikeja, Lagos and Epe for the next one year in terms of impacting positively in various communities and due representation of Lagos State as a whole.

Aderonmu Zainab disclosed the information via a post on her official Instagram page on October 31, 2022.

The post read in parts, "I am super excited to have emerged as the Lagos State Youth Ambassador with my team of intellectual Divisional Ambassadors representing each division in Lagos State.

"We are committed to ensuring in-depth impact by proffering practical and viable solutions to problems in Lagos State. We would also be operating from a number of positive values, including but not limited to, collaboration & partnerships, Knowledge & Education, Visibility & Results. We absolutely seek the support of every youth in Lagos State, resident or indigene, because there is power in numbers and unity."

Speaking to LASU life correspondents, Zainab revealed that she is focused on providing holistic solutions to endemic problems in the society such as drug abuse, bullying, women empowerment among others.

Giving her perspective about the leadership training through which she emerged as the overall Lagos State Youth Ambassador, Zainab admitted that the whole process of becoming an ambassador was rigorous and required leadership training that went on for several days.

She said, "The training involves impromptu speeches, elections and accessors gauging the performances and behaviour of every individual."

Advising individuals who would love to become the Lagos State Youth ambassador, she noted that it is important to actively participate in the whole process.

Zainab said, "You will not be crowned queen unless you are in the race. It is not just for the name, it is about what you can do and the problems you can solve."

Meanwhile, Aderounmu Zainab takes the mantle of leadership from her predecessor, former overall Lagos State Youth Ambassador, Amb. Funmilayo Akannishelle, who served during the 2021/2022 session and is also an alumnus of the Lagos State University.
