LASU VC, Professor Ibiyemi Raises Alarm Over Fake LinkedIn Account

The Lagos State University Vice Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji Bello mni, has distanced herself from a fake LinkedIn account operating in her name. 

In a post via her official Instagram handle on Friday, which was seen by ACJ-LASU correspondent, she described the impersonating account as fake. 

Prof Olatunji-Bello urged members of the public to shun messages and report. emanating from the account as it does not link to any members of her media team. 

The VC wrote, “My attention has been drawn to a LinkedIn page created and operated by some individuals in my name, the picture of which is attached here. 

“I like to restate that this account is fake and is in no way linked to me or my team. 

“Please disregard it and help by reporting the account to LinkedIn if you do come across it. Thank you.’’

Faculty of Communication Breaks Record at LASU Debate Society Word War 8

By Alasepeloluwa Precious Jenti For the second time in the history of the Lagos State University Debate Society’s (LSUDS) public speaking competition, Word War, the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies has emerged victorious, making them the first faculty to win Word War twice.  Their historic triumph came during the Word War 8 grand finale tagged , "Siege", held on Wednesday, 3rd December 2025, at the Hallowed Chambers, Student Arcade, Lagos State University. The grand finale featured top contestants from the Faculty of Management Sciences, Faculty of Law, and students from Epe Campus, with each faculty represented by two debaters.  The event also included an in-house debate and oratory competition for LSUDS members, where Moyomade Adegbite won the intra-LSUDS debate, and Chief Orator Gift claimed victory in the orators’ contest. LASU to Host Global Scholars at International Conference on Community Psychology 2026

By Ameenat Hamzat, Jenti Alasepeloluwa  Lagos State University (LASU) will host the 11th International Conference of Community Psychology (ICCP 2026), expecting over 700 international delegates from Africa, Europe, and the United States, alongside national participants, marking one of the largest international academic gatherings in Lagos for 2026. The Vice-Chancellor of LASU, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, announced this development during a press conference held on Monday at the institution's Senate Building Conference Hall.
