LASU Student Wins 2022 Fintech Summit Hackathon Prize of $5000

Michael Eziamaka, a 300 level student of the Lagos State University Department of Computer Science has won the 2022 Fintech Summit Hackathon with a cash prize of 5,000 dollars.

This information was made known via a post shared on the official Facebook page of Lagos State University on Wednesday, December 14. 

According to the information gathered by ACJ-LASU, Michael was formerly a musician before he ventured into tech for better opportunities. Though his first hackathon didn't turn out the way he expected, he kept trying. 

In his words, "I didn't let that stop me, I kept working hard and found success on my following attempts".

In addition, Micheal stated that procrastination was his biggest challenge as it hindered him from completing his set out plans but he keeps fighting it. He hopes to build his FINTECH start-up and become a CEO that provides technological services globally.

Notably, before his current feat, Micheal emerged as the 1st runner-up for the 2022 Financial Summit Innovators Finance Hackathon and he was also the Ambassador for the National Association of Computing Students (NACOS).
