By Similoluwa Ifedayo

In celebration of World Donor's Day, the 32nd Lagos State University Students' Union (LASUSU) administration, in partnership with Alimosho General Hospital is set to hold a 1-day free medical outreach tagged "Voluntary Health Donation Drive 2022" on 6th of December, 2022 at the 3-in-1 Faculty of Education lecture hall, Ojo Campus.

This was made known by the LASUSU Welfare Director, Comr. Ayodeji Olayiwole fondly called Stakeholder while speaking to an ACJ-LASU correspondent on Monday evening.

According to Comr. Olayiwole, the event is an initiative of the union to celebrate the World Donor's Day as health services such as blood donation drives, Hepatitis B tests, Human Immunodeficiency Virus(HIV) tests, PCV tests, Blood Pressure(BP) tests, Blood Group tests and Genotype tests will be done free of charge.

He explained that, the medical outreach serves as a means of creating awareness for the importance of safe blood and blood products and to appreciate voluntary, unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood.

In his words, he said, "The reason for the collaboration is an act of solidarity and to be a lifesaver. I also got to know that the amount of blood reserves hospitals have is not enough to substantiate people battling for their life." adding that the (Alimosho General) hospital has been a long-time ally" of the union.
