Faculty of Law

LOW VOTER TURNOUT AT LAW LIBRARY POLLING UNIT
Despite the presence of numerous agents and canvassers, the Law Library polling unit has seen a low turnout of voters from the Faculty of Law.
Candidates' supporters are working hard to encourage present members to cast their ballots, however, technical issues with the network have prevented some from voting immediately.
Nevertheless, persistence from the electors has allowed a number of them to successfully cast their ballots using their course forms and pins.
Faculty of communication and Media Studies:
ELECTION SLOWDOWN AT FACULTY OF COMMUNICATION AND MEDIA STUDIES
Oluwanifesimi Ogunlaja reports from the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies where the election process is facing a major setback. The turn out of students at the faculty has been low, with many choosing not to participate following the disqualification of their preferred candidate and the withdrawal of another candidate for the position of Social Director.
A 300-level student, who wishes to remain anonymous, stated that many of her peers opted out of the election due to the disqualification of their candidate. The slow pace of the election is further compounded by the limited availability of computers for allocation of voting pins. Students who used the computer facilities at the E-library reported frustration with the network.
However, despite the slow process, the election has been organized without any reported incidents of pushing or shoving. The security personnel have ensured a smooth queuing process, with students given the option to use the provided computers or to log in to the voting system using their phones.
The staff at the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies have been highly organized in managing the election, providing support and adequate information to students using the computer facilities. Samiat Bakare, a 100-level student, praised the level of organization despite the slow process.
In conclusion, the election process at the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies may be slow, but it is well organized and secure. The staff and security personnel have ensured that students have a smooth and efficient voting experience.
Faculty of Social sciences:

The Faculty of Social Science has seen a peaceful and organized start to the election proceedings. A long but orderly queue of voters was formed at the entrance of the building, where they proceeded to carry out the voting exercise. The voting process was simple and efficient, with pins being generated at the faculty hall and psychology hall, allowing students to vote using their phones.
The DSA,Tajudeen Olumoko and the LASUSU vice president Kelani Adedayo, briefly arrived to inspect the proceedings and ensure that the process was running smoothly. However, despite the peaceful nature of the election, there were occasional disagreements between agents from the Faculty of Social Science and those from the neighboring Faculty of Management Science.
The agents from the Faculty of Social Science, who were canvassing for their candidates at the Faculty of Management Science, were not well received and were prevented from carrying out their duties. This is due to the fact that both faculties have candidates for the positions of president and treasurer, leading to tensions between the two groups.
When agents from the Faculty of Management Science arrived at the Faculty of Social Science, they were met with hostility and were eventually sent back, leading to frequent disagreements and tensions between the two groups. Nevertheless, the election continues to proceed peacefully and efficiently at the Faculty of Social Science.
FACULTY OF ARTS

In an unexpected turn of events, students at the Faculty of Art were unable to vote using their phones due to unforeseen circumstances like lack of data and powered on phones.
The electoral body in the faculty, however, provided laptops to ease the electoral process and ensure a smooth flow of voting.
Despite the provision of laptops, there are concerns of electoral officers manipulating the minds of voters to cast their ballots in favor of a preferred candidate. The situation in the Faculty of Art remains tense as students and electoral officials alike await the outcome of the election.
