NEW LEADERSHIP, NEW VISION: THE INAUGURATION CEREMONY OF THE 33RD LASUSU EXECUTIVES AND PARLIAMENTARIANS

On Monday, May 8, 2023, the 33rd Lagos State University Student Union (LASUSU) Executives and parliamentarians were officially inaugurated at the Buba Marwa Auditorium, Main Campus, Ojo. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji Bello, mni, and other university officials, as well as past LASUSU executives and students, were present at the ceremony.


The event began with the National Assembly and School Assembly, followed by opening remarks from the Dean of Students Affairs, Prof. T. A. Olumoko, and an opening speech from the IEC Chairman, Comrade Aina Oluwafemi Ayobami.



The newly elected executives and parliamentarians, who will represent over 80,000 students from the three campuses of the university, were then sworn in. The Vice Chancellor congratulated the new leaders and urged them to prioritize the students' interests in all their decisions.


The LASUSU President, Comrade Agoro Oreoluwa Abdulrahman Clyde, was inaugurated by the Chief judge, Barakat Yusuf, and promised to work closely with the university management to ensure a conducive learning environment for all students. The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Sanusi Modui Babatunde, was inaugurated by the President of the Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice Oseni, and in turn, inaugurated the honourable members.


During an interlude session, graduating students from the Faculty of Art performed. The ceremony concluded with the Vice Chancellor giving certificates of service to all members of the IEC and certificates of office to the newly inaugurated executives and parliamentarians.
