7 Types of Students During the Ileya Festival

It's that time of the year again— the Ileya festival, one of the biggest celebrations in Islam. As we embark on this joyous occasion, let's take a moment to explore the seven types of students we often encounter during Ileya.

The Social Media Observers

These students are more interested in viewing their friends' Ileya pictures than focusing on their own studies. They meticulously analyze every detail, making comments and even saving screenshots for future memes or references.

The "Send Me Beautiful Pictures" Geng 

Count me in! This group is similar to the social media observers, but they actively seek out others' Ileya pictures so they can post them with extraordinary captions.

The "Abaya and Aso Odun" Geng

Amidst claims of financial constraints, these students somehow manage to acquire beautiful abayas and aso odun outfits. Their style is so captivating that you can't help but take notice.

The "iPhone" Aficionados

While they may not have extravagant Ileya attire, these individuals always make sure to capture themselves in front of a camera, showcasing their brand-new iPhones. It's hard to miss.

The "Send Location" Geng

Frequenting your departmental group chat, this set is constantly asking for people to share locations, especially if there's food involved, particularly meat. They're always in pursuit of a good feast.

The "Alhaja, My Eran Ileya" Geng 

Primarily comprising our Christian friends, these individuals jokingly address their Muslim counterparts as "Alhaja" and eagerly remind them not to forget their Eran Odun (Ileya meat) on Monday. I fall into this category as well.

The "We Don't Have Aso Odun" Geng

These students claim they have no Ileya attire due to rain or other unforeseen circumstances. However, don't be fooled—they likely possess aso odun but choose not to share pictures. Bill them!

These are the seven types of students you'll encounter during the Ileya period at LASU. To all my Muslim friends, I wish you a happy Eid Mubarak. E ku Odun!

Let us not forget that exams are scheduled for next month. While we enjoy this festive period, it is important to stay focused and remember to study the books we brought home during the holiday. Once exams are over, LIDC awaits us!
