THINGS YOU CAN'T ESCAPE AT LASU: CHALLENGES STUDENTS FACE

By: Mojeed Kanyinsola

In the life of every LASU student, there are numerous challenges that they wish to avoid. However, these challenges inevitably find their way into their lives, making them impossible to escape. Here are some of the common struggles faced by LASU students:

Sapa: Sapa, meaning a severe lack of purchasing power, is the ultimate nemesis that every student encounters. It is a battle that cannot be avoided. However, there is one ally that comes to the rescue - garri. This humble saviour has saved many students from the clutches of Sapa.

Billings: In LASU, students are bombarded with various payments from every direction. It feels like bills are coming at them from left, right, front, back, and centre. This constant stream of bills is unavoidable and adds to the financial burden of students.

Debit alerts: One of the greatest fears of every student is receiving debit alerts. It's a rollercoaster ride where one moment you feel like a rich kid, and the next moment you step foot on campus, your account balance turns completely red, indicating that Sapa has arrived.

Exes and Unwanted Lecturers: It's common for students to have exes on campus or a lecturer they desperately want to avoid. However, avoiding them proves to be a challenging task. Despite the best-laid plans, crossing paths with exes or undesirable lecturers often becomes inevitable.

Breakfast Woes: While there is a slim chance of avoiding this challenge, many students have encountered situations where someone offers them breakfast, usually accompanied by some rare requests or expectations.

Exams and Impromptu Tests: Escaping exams and impromptu tests is an impossible feat for LASU students. These academic hurdles not only induce stress but also impact mental health. They are an integral part of student life, bringing their fair share of challenges. LIDC also gives the result of this feat.
