The Lagos State University's Vice Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Olátúnjà Bello, mni, has unveiled plans for the institution to begin producing tabled water.
This significant announcement was made during a media chat organized by the Lagos State University Management. The interactive session took place in the Vice Chancellor's conference room within the Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, with the primary objective of addressing crucial issues affecting the student body.
One of the topics raised during the discussion was the university's strategy for improving infrastructure within the campus. This question was posed by Lasu Radio.
In response, the Vice Chancellor outlined the existing plans for expanding infrastructure and emphasized the construction of additional restrooms to ensure convenience for both staff and students.
In addition, she revealed the upcoming launch of LASU Water. She explained that all necessary equipment is in place, with production readiness as the next step. "We are also in the process of obtaining the required licenses and NAFDAC approval, complete with branded bottles made by the institution", the Vice Chancellor stated.
Furthermore, the Vice Chancellor conveyed the management's intention to establish a fire outlet within the school premises. This initiative aims to ensure a prompt response to fire incidents, not only within LASU but also in the surrounding metropolis.
Prior to this announcement, the Vice Chancellor highlighted several infrastructural accomplishments achieved during her two years in office. These include the Student Arcade, improved roadways, renovation of lecture halls, construction of new ones, and the ongoing construction of an 8000-bed hostel, among others.
