Senate Approves Academic Calendar for 2023/2024 Academic Session

In its 305th statutory meeting on Thursday, 28th December 2023, the Lagos State University Senate reviewed and approved the Academic Calendar for the upcoming 2023/2024 Academic Session.

The first semester is set to commence from the 15th to the 26th of January 2024, allowing for a two-week registration period for both fresh and returning students.

Lectures for all students, whether fresh or returning, will begin on the 22nd of January and continue until the 29th of March 2024, covering a 10-week span. Late registration is permitted from the 11th to the 22nd of March 2024, incurring a penalty of ₦5000.

Examinations for the first semester are scheduled from the 1st to the 19th of April 2024, spanning three weeks. Subsequently, grading and uploading of results will transpire from Monday, 22nd April, to Friday, 3rd May 2024.

Transitioning into May, departmental and faculty consideration, coupled with the uploading of corrections and ICT processing of results, will be conducted from Monday, 6th to Friday, 10th May 2024. Following this, the collation of results for Senate submission and consideration will occur from Monday, 13th to Thursday, 16th May 2024.

A semester break is then scheduled from Thursday, 16th to Friday, 31st May 2024.

Second Semester 2023/2024 Academic Session

For the second semester, registration and resumption of 100 to 500-level students will span from Monday, 3rd June, to Friday, 9th August 2024, covering 10 weeks. Subsequently, examinations for the second semester are slated to run from Monday, 12th to Friday, 30th August 2024, over a three-week period.

The grading and uploading of results will occur from Monday, 2nd to Friday, 13th September 2024. Concurrently, departmental and faculty considerations, along with the uploading of corrections and ICT processing of results, will be conducted from Monday, 16th to Friday, 20th September 2024.

Finally, the collation of results for submission to the Senate and Senate meetings for result consideration will transpire from Monday, 23rd to Friday, 27th September 2024.

The semester break for the second semester is set to commence from Monday, 30th September 2024.
