LASU: Late Registration, School Fee Payment Attracts 5k Extra Fee From Tuesday

The university management has, on Saturday, issued a fresh directive stating that late course registration and school fee payment will attract an extra N5,000 fee. 

The said extra fee will be effected starting Tuesday, March 12 to Friday, March 22, 2024, lasting two weeks. Thus the directive was issued to deter students from late registration and incurring additional charges. 

Students are advised to pay their school fees and register for their courses before the deadline to enable them access to a collection of their examination docket which is a requirement for participation in the upcoming Harmattan semester examination.

Faculty of Communication Breaks Record at LASU Debate Society Word War 8

By Alasepeloluwa Precious Jenti For the second time in the history of the Lagos State University Debate Society’s (LSUDS) public speaking competition, Word War, the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies has emerged victorious, making them the first faculty to win Word War twice.  Their historic triumph came during the Word War 8 grand finale tagged , "Siege", held on Wednesday, 3rd December 2025, at the Hallowed Chambers, Student Arcade, Lagos State University. The grand finale featured top contestants from the Faculty of Management Sciences, Faculty of Law, and students from Epe Campus, with each faculty represented by two debaters.  The event also included an in-house debate and oratory competition for LSUDS members, where Moyomade Adegbite won the intra-LSUDS debate, and Chief Orator Gift claimed victory in the orators’ contest. LASU to Host Global Scholars at International Conference on Community Psychology 2026

By Ameenat Hamzat, Jenti Alasepeloluwa  Lagos State University (LASU) will host the 11th International Conference of Community Psychology (ICCP 2026), expecting over 700 international delegates from Africa, Europe, and the United States, alongside national participants, marking one of the largest international academic gatherings in Lagos for 2026. The Vice-Chancellor of LASU, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, announced this development during a press conference held on Monday at the institution's Senate Building Conference Hall.
