The Google developer student club of the Lagos State University,LASU, Ojo, held its sessional tech event, LASU TECH X 3.0, at the CBT Centre on the 23rd of June 2024.
The edition, which focuses on the illuminating topic of TECH forward; Embarking on a journey of discovery, was honoured and graced by distinct personalities of the tech world.
The first guest speaker, Confidence Staveley, the founder and executive director of Cybersafe Foundation, educated the attendees on the importance and ultimate use of cybersecurity in tech. According to her, "cybersecurity is an ever evolving field that helps in protecting your data and also supplying of updates." She further stated that it is essential as a developer to have a good mindset of security.
Also, Joke Shalom Akintara, Product Lead of FanBants, also explained who a product manager is, their function, and roles in an organisation. “As a product manager, you are expected to listen to news, know people, subscribe to newsletters, and also know your competitors”, she added.
Among the acclaimed and notable guests were Sodiq Akinjobi; Developer Relations Google, Anuoluwapo Famakinwa; GDSC LASU Lead, Oluwagbemileke Kolawole; Cloud Engineer, Oluseyi Akindehinde; Founder, HYPERSPACE, Joynels Ogbogu; Co-Founder HYPERSPACE, Zaynab Awofeso; ML Engineer, ARM Group, Tobiloba Adedeji DevRai Engineer at Fleek, Chinaza Icheke UX Designer, Abisayo Folu-Agoi Android Engineer.
