LASU students to take turns in completing 2019/2020 academic session

ACJ-LASU In lieu of the resumption date as announced by the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu, the Lagos State University vice-chancellor today, 31st of August announced classes shall commence in batches a soon a the senates come to a roundtable decision tomorrow. Wahab beats Abari to succeed Noah as new LASU DVC ACAD

Afeez Akanni, Kareem Itunu Azeez In a statement released by the Lagos State University Center for information (CIPPR) on the 26, of August 2020, the information was made know to the public. The release states that: "The Senate of Lagos State University has elected Prof. Wahab Elias Olukorede as the Deputy Vice Chancellor ( Academics) of the University." The election, which took place today, Wednesday, 26th August, 2020 saw Prof. Wahab defeat the other candidate for the position, Prof. Ayodeji Abari, by 88 to 43 votes to emerge winner. Prof. Wahab a Professor of Sociology, and Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences succeeds Prof. Olumuyiwa Noah whose tenure ended on Monday, 24th August, 2020 after serving for 2 consecutive terms of 4 years. The National Association of Nigerian Students, Joint Campus Committee, Lagos Axis, had just concluded it election, where Comrade Ogunsanya Rasheed defeated Comrade Akintoye Ifeoluwa with 7votes as against 1vote. The Lagos convention election took place at Michael Otedola College of Education (Mocped) in Noforija-Epe, on Saturday. The arrival and accreditation started at about 1pm. Students Union Presidents/Senators led by the Senator of the Host Institution (MOCPED) introduced themselves to the stakeholders and observers present at the convention ground. The opening prayer was said by Comrade Akindele Sodiq at exactly 2:47pm, while, National Anthem and Aluta Anthem was recited which was led by Senator Alagbe David Sewanu (Doxology) at about 2:51pm.
