FIRE GUTS DOWN LAGOS BROTHEL; LOSS OF PROPERTIES WORTH MILLIONS OF NAIRA.

WENDY JOSEPH Residents and Business Owners at Costain Street of Ojo Local Government, Volks were awoken at past 1:00 am by the fumes from the razing of a brothel bungalow building which was caused by sparks from the electric wires in a room. Properties worth millions of naira were lost as people couldn’t break through the lock shops to rescue the properties due to the explosive sounds emanating from the shop causing some of the walls of the building to collapse. The fire service department team were contacted as well as the Power Holding Company of Nigeria to turn of the power supply in order to prevent electrocution while quenching the fire. As at past 4am, the fire service personnels alongside residents in the streets strenuously quenched the fire which razed through 2 hours resulting to homelessness of some of the residents of the brothels while the shop owners are in a grieved state at the complete loss of their goods. LASU To Resume Academic Activities as NASU/SSANU Suspends Strike

Lagos State University is expected to resume academic activities fully as the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) and Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities(SSANU) suspends strike today, Thursday, 25 February. The information was revealed to the student populace after an official press statement was released by the university's student union body, through the Public Relations Officer, Adams Zaenab. The press statement states that the university is expected to resume academic activities fully by Friday, 26 February after the strike has been suspended, further stating that the students are not to resume on campus yet as the university management would meet to discuss and officialy announce the resumption date. However, students were urged through the official bulletin to disregard any other source of information other than information coming from the office of the public relation officer of the Student Union Governemnt.

Victor Olosunde Kareem Itunu Azeez Begins warning strike Postpones Examination Shut-down school premises Only LASU international students were allowed in The Non-Academic Staff Union of the Lagos State University, has begun a warning strike, today, 8th February 2021, due to various breaches in agreement with the government. While students were locked out of the school premises, only the LASU international school students were allowed into the school premises, using an unusual route, “Back of Education” to ward off other students of the university into the premises. The Lagos State Government on Friday announced the reduction of the tuition fee for students of Lagos State University. This announcement was made on the official Twitter handle of the office of the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Education @osaelagos The tweet reads "Flash: Lagos State government reduces @LASUOfficial." According to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, the approval was in tandem with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's commitment in providing qualitative education at an affordable to all and sundry, irrespective of class, gender, ethnicity, race, among others.
