Lagos State University is expected to resume academic activities fully as the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) and Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities(SSANU) suspends strike today, Thursday, 25 February. The information was revealed to the student populace after an official press statement was released by the university's student union body, through the Public Relations Officer, Adams Zaenab. The press statement states that the university is expected to resume academic activities fully by Friday, 26 February after the strike has been suspended, further stating that the students are not to resume on campus yet as the university management would meet to discuss and officialy announce the resumption date. However, students were urged through the official bulletin to disregard any other source of information other than information coming from the office of the public relation officer of the Student Union Governemnt.

While students were locked out of the school premises, only the LASU international school students were allowed into the school premises, using an unusual route, “Back of Education” to ward off other students of the university into the premises. The Lagos State Government on Friday announced the reduction of the tuition fee for students of Lagos State University. This announcement was made on the official Twitter handle of the office of the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Education @osaelagos The tweet reads "Flash: Lagos State government reduces @LASUOfficial." According to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, the approval was in tandem with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's commitment in providing qualitative education at an affordable to all and sundry, irrespective of class, gender, ethnicity, race, among others.
