The Lagos State University Management announces the postponement of the 24th Convocation Ceremonies according to the broadcast that was released by the University Press. It was gathered that the scheduled event was to come up by Friday 20th to Friday 27th March, 2020. Federal and State Government has released various broadcast to discourage the gathering of people in public places as a result of the corona virus that has taken lives and leaving many in quarantined position. LASU management has concurred to this by postponing the Convocation to maintain the preventive caution that was released by various Health Centres. "The Management regrets every inconvenience this postponement might cause to all our graduating students, awardees, family, friends and other stakeholders of the University" says the University Management.

The Lagos state university, LASU,Dept of biochemistry in faculty of science launch its first relaxation centre on Thursday, march 12, 2020 at science complex. This project is said to be the first project done by the students legislative council(SLC)and students executive council(SEC)in collaboration with all the students in the faculty. According to our interview with the speaker of Nigeria society of Biochemistry student SLC Abdulrahman saheed who stated that the relaxation spot plan was initiated due to the need to solve the problem affecting the students of biochemistry department and the faculty at large. The Lagos state university's college of medicine famously known as the pride of LASU have again proved their slogan as the released transition list of students has angered quite a number of parents and disappointed lots of students as they (the students) could not crossover to the college of medicine to study the various medical courses that they were initially admitted for.  The issue of the transition list or transition quota has always been a source of various discord and confusion amongst parents and students as no one really knows what CGPA would be required from a student to crossover to study any of the five courses at the college of medicine and if this 'requirement' isn't met, the students have their courses changed to any random course in the university. The College of medicine of the prestigious Lagos State University appears to be running a very strange school calendar as the medical and dental students are set to resume on monday the 16th of march exactly 35 days after the rest of the school's main campus resumed alongside the students of engineering at the Epe campus and their peers in Pharmacology, Nursing and Physiology.  This extended break is not unusual for medical students as this practice has been going on for years for reasons no-one knows why. The College of medicine is an entirely different world. The rules and etiquette of the medical school is different from what the new set of medical students have always been used to. From the dress codes, to the rules and regulations of each lecturers and the school in general. The Lagos state university's college of medicine popularly known as LASUCOM is having a bitter sweet effect on students upon transiting from the school's main campus to the college of medicine at The general hospital ikeja. The Lagos State University, LASU held its 24th convocation ceremony on Friday March 13, 2020 at it's new Senate building on campus. In Thursday's showdown of the ongoing female football league at LASU,ojo campus sports center, the faculty of education girls trashed their opponent, school of transport girls one nil to scale through to the next round of the tournament. The goal which came 23 minutes into the game by Onda Cecilia sealed the winning for the faculty of education girls. The Lagos State University Students' Union (LASUSU) has reacted to the ongoing ASUU strike that was declared on Monday, 9 March, 2020. The ASUU strike which was announced by the National President, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi at the end of the National Executive Council meeting (NEC) held today at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) has been declared null in Lagos State University by the Student Union of the the school. In a letter signed by the LASUSU president, Comrade Ashade Abdulbasit, LASUSU implored students to continue engaging in their daily activities as the school activities is still in progress and to keep their hands crossed as more details concerning the strike would be dropped soon. It also made known to the students that their welfare, is LASUSU's utmost priority and they wouldn't want students to exceed the stated duration of study.

T he Lagos State University Association of Campus Journalists on Saturday organised their second general meeting of the year and in the same vein conducted a training programme on "The Arts of News Writing and Publishing at the School of Communication Annex Building. It was in this meeting a 400level of the School of Communication relates initial aspirations of becoming a Public Relations Practioner to a Practising Journalist. Ileyemi Mariam related her plights to the trainees during her beginners stage as a journalist. The Association of Campus Journalists (ACJ-LASU) held its second training for members and 100 level students on Saturday, March 7th, 2020 at ECO library in LASU. After the 3-days training with premium times as the first training, the second one was held today to assemble its members and recruit new members into the organization as young Journalists. Lagos State University holds its (resumption) town hall meeting, which was headed by the school vice chancellor Professor Olanrewaju Adigun Fagbohun, on the 5th of March 2020. The LASU Town Hall meeting is an initiative from the vice Chancellor of Lagos State University Professor Olarenwaju Adigun Fagbohun which started in 2016, three years ago.
